The City of Edmonton has grown significantly over the last several years growing to a city of one million people. To keep up with this growth, the city’s main police agency, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has grown as well. Today, the EPS is better trained, better educated and more diverse than at any other time in history and the service is internationally recognized as a leader in innovative policing. Our technological capabilities allow officers and support staff to be better equipped and intelligence-led when problem solving and dealing with day-to-day responsibilities.

The EPS has approximately 2,000 employees both sworn and non-sworn committed to ensuring that the City of Edmonton is a safe place to both work and raise a family. With over 1,500 police officers communities throughout Edmonton feel the safety and security that a police service of this magnitude is able to provide 365 days a year.
