this is a picture from an enormously perfect set, It's massive. But I made a tight little edit. Ill get the rest of the photos to the models if they ask. This set was fun the girls were great. None of the pics have been altered, straight of the camera; re-sized; branded and published. Again all thanks to Vulture Designs for the superb set up and models. Rock on!

Rashaun Broadus is the Man!!!
What a great weekend. The Edmonton Energy blew the socks off The YamHill HighFlyers. Well we kicked butt up until Saturday night when the High Flyers took the lead in the last few minutes of the game and then took home a win. A 2 point loss... painful. With only 5 losses and 12 wins, the Energy is really Shakin this year. They are set to play the Los Angeles Lightning this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Nait's main gym. Come check it out and feel the NRG!!!

This is my place to run, to hide into a picture a photograph. This place is so simple, so happy, not sad. But the sun still breaks through to add suspense.

Stress isn't a real factor for us, not at all!

122-120 win for the NRG this Saturday at Ross Sheppard. The whole game was a nail biter, the NRG was only up by a few points most of the game. An intense match up between the Edmonton Energy and the Bellingham Slam. Watching the Energy play is becoming an addiction, since my fortunate introduction to the team my overwhelming desire to shoot fast action sports has increase tremendously. The UofA gym isn't a hard environment to shoot in. But this weekend while shooting at Jasper Place with a small prime I was clipped leaning in to the court, no not by a player or the ball, but a ref. lol. Well I learned my lesson, just lay down under the basket and open the aperture, then wait to swallow the ball.
Well this weekend Steve Sir convinced me that the Energy is going all the way. The stress athletes can endure. Man Sir landed a 19 foot jump-shot with a second left in the game. We won! There is nothing like it so come join me Thursday June 17 7:00 PM

Calling all talent!
Well summer is here 100%, it snowed this weekend, yet still there was shooting. I did mine inside, it's been hard to get out there and see the world reflect under our big beautiful sun, fortunately today was a little sweeter and me and my friend Nathania went out to shoot, here is the little set we developed. Shooting with models is quickly becoming a passion. One that requires skill and talents that need to be nurtured, #1 rule be Humble. Photography is an industry that has the ability to change the way you fell about yourself. It can set you high up, and it can leave you falling like a dead tree. The most important thing to remember when business and life work their magic on you psyche is " I love my job." Photography is not about anything it's about everything. I'm working on a variety of concepts to expand itsyourphoto and the world is endless. So models looking to expand their portfolio contact me, and if there is any graphic designers or photographers, writers that want to expand their reach into the city and the world contact me. Cause there really is so much out there.

So I like to do work and throw it out, no post!
I'm not lazy I'm busy, I know that's no excuse. These shots are the start of what I'm guessing is going to me a world of summer life. Everything is still dead in the shot, hopefully there will be a slew of followers ready to shoot the next sexy sun set on the 98st bridge. Fashion there is something about it that I really like. It's sexy, it's clean, it's dirty. Fashion is so many different things, Fashion Week here in Western Canada means culture. Fashion means something positive a move in a direction that I like. This week itsyourphoto spent his evenings shooting fashion, seeing fashion, breathing fashion. I did it through my lens, a 70-200mm telephoto, a piece of equipment I'm just learning to use. This week was about an event, except not just another event where you see people get drunk and go home, this event is meaning more to me.
Fashion week is a way for Edmontonians to step out of their shells and into a world you don't see in Alberta, a world Albertan's need to cultivate. Fashion week is the type of event we need more off. Edmonton has been dieing to grow up and wear a nice outfit. Shooting fashion week here in western Canada I've seen a lot of young frightened models, I'll be honest. There is also a lot of incredibly beautiful and talented people in our city. I haven't been exposed to actual fashion culture ever here in Edmonton. I did grow up watching Fashion TV though. As a photographer you only get as exposed as your light source lets you. I used a 42 inch reflector, the gold side, warmed things up a bit, but my light was still a little chilly. Whatever, I am just learning. What I want to say is that I shot fashion week and fell head over heels in love. The cloths, the people, the money... No, no money not yet. Maybe after this week, after about 10,000 tries to create the perfect image on the cat walk here at Western Canada's Fashion week can I even think about asking for money for shooting. Even with this set, my fifth or sixth set I learned a little more about what I'm doing. What I'm trying to get at is the WCFW itsyourphoto photos are free to the public, and they are excellent but there is more. There is photographers sitting next to that cat walk with massive strobes thrown up all over the place. Some guys are using five or six lights. There is guys who have been shooting this stuff for a long time now. They don't give their photos away, they sell them. And much of the work is immaculate, here is the Facebook link, anyone can buy prints, the proceeds go to maintaining The Fashion Week.

There is a lot more to fashion photography then ........ Well there is a lot to it. Definitely politics get thrown around. Fortunately I'm shooting fashion to learn. I've met a lot of great people along the way, Nick Sporek, or, there is Kelly the freelancer, karinlocke, all these people kick ass. Oh and none of this would be possible without the incredible team from studio-e.ca. Watching this big time outfit is a pleasure, not only because they kick ass, but because they allow us to help create an image for the Western Canadian Fashion Week.... Thank you Studio E.

This week itsyourphoto has had the chance to expose itself to the incredibly photogenic world of Fashion, and "Wow" what an experience. Fashion has gone a long way in this city and now with Edmonton's FashionWeek turning into Western Canada's fashion Week we Edmontonians find ourselves dead center in world wind of costumes and clothing. Fancy Dress's and Urban gear, thrown down by some of the most talented designers in our half of the Contenent. What a time this is for all of us photographers.
